The Plant Pathology Group at the University of Reggio Calabria focuses on both fundamental and applied research on plant pathogens, plant microbiomes, and biological control. We integrate multiple approaches and theories spanning the fields of microbiology, community ecology, experimental evolution, meta-omics, and bioinformatics. In our quest to uncover the mechanisms and consequences of plant-microbe interactions, we aim to build a diverse and inclusive research group, welcoming great ideas and promoting tolerance and mutual respect.

How do plant microbiomes assemble and function?
We are getting inspired by nature to find environmental-friendly solutions to protect our crops in the field and after harvest.
We monitor Phytophthora populations to protect agricultural and natural ecosystems
We work on understanding the cause and mechanisms behind the spread of KVDS.
