It’s been a while since we last updated our website. In short, here the major updates from the lab: (i) four grants awarded; (ii) two new people joined the lab; (iii) a new preprint and two new paper published. Click on the title of this post for more details.

Antonino was awarded the 2023 Harry Smith Prize for his work published in Molecular Ecology. This prize recognizes the best paper published in Molecular Ecology and Molecular Ecology Resources in the previous year by early career scholars . His work, published as an ‘Invited Reviews and Syntheses’ article, presents an example for leveraging the powerful open data and provides new insights into the field of microbiome research. Antonino has been asked to join the Molecular Ecology Editorial Board as part of the prize.

Edda Francomano joined our group as a PhD student. Her work will focus on using AI to predict plant-microbiome interactions. Welcome Edda!!!

Giuseppina Vizzari joined our group as a PhD student (jointly supervised by Dr. Abdelfattah, Leibniz ABT, Potsdam, Germany). Her work will focus on plant-microbiome interactions in forest systems. Welcome Giusy!!!
